Kansas City Power & Light Generating Stations

At Kansas City Power & Light, our job is to supply electric energy to our customers. Our five power plants work around the clock to be certain there's enough electricity for everyone, all the time.

Do you ever wonder how electricity is made? Do you know how a lump of coal becomes the power to run our lights, televisions and computers? How do we make electricity? Once we make the electricity, how do we get it to your home, school and offices? Transmitting electricity happens almost instantly. Find out how electricity travels from our plant to you.
