Being safe around electricity is one of the most important things you can learn. See the results from the 2008 Annual Billboard Contest sponsored by KCP&L and Lamar Advertising. We hope all the participants learned more about electrical safety as they expressed their creative ideas. The contest was open to any student, grades 1-6, who attends school within KCP&L's service territory. (Children whose parents are employed by KCP&L or Lamar Advertising are not eligible.) One student won a $50 first prize, and three students won $25 honorable mention awards in each of three categories: grades 1-2, grades 3-4 and grades 5-6. A grand prize winner received $100 - and the grand prize-winning artwork will appear on a local Lamar Advertising billboard. Congratulations to all of last year's winners.
