Enter Your Art for a Chance to Win
Now that you've looked at the examles of our safety drawings, it's time to put your creativity to work. Follow these guidelines so your entry will be eligible to win. Ask your parents or teacher if you need help understanding the contest rules.
- Be simple. Do simple, clear drawings. Limit your message to nine words or less.
- Be original. We've given you lots of ideas to help you get started. Now you can create with your own artwork and message.
- Be bold. Use big letters with space between them. Use bright colors. Paint or markers work best.
- Draw to scale. Billboards are usually 22" wide and 10" high. As much as possible, keep your artwork proportional. Use poster board or paper that is 22" x 10". Your artwork should be horizontal.
- Enter today. Print out the entry form and attach one copy to your entry. Fill out the entry form completely. Only one entry per person is allowed. Follow the mailing or delivery instructions on the entry form.
- Meet the deadline. Entries must be received at KCP&L by Friday, April 25, 2008, by 4 p.m. to be eligible. Send to: Safety Billboard Contest, KCP&L, P.O. Box 418679, Kansas City, MO 64141-9679.
- Other rules. Entries become the exclusive property of KCP&L and Lamar Advertising. They may be used by the sponsors in anyway the sponsors feel appropriate. They will not be returned. Winners automatically allow the sponsors to use their names, likenesses, biographical information, etc. in connection with any future promotion or public information. Prizes are not transferable, and no substitutions are allowed. The judges' decicions are final. Winners will be notified within one week following the entry deadline.
